Isn’t the first snow of winter beautiful?
It’s small at first
A few flakes spill from the clouds
Then more and more join the race
To see the world
Crissing, crossing
Another snowflake’s path
Floating, flying, falling
In big clumps
In small clumps
Single flakes resting on precairous perches
Blanketing the ground in its cold embrace.
‘The snow is here’ children cry,
Looking up with wonder at the sky.
‘Watch it fall, watch it rest,
Oh, this year will surely be the best.’
Snow, its so cold and tasteless
A comparison to the heat of the fire
Fire to warm you
Snow to freeze you
I am frozen in this barren wasteland of snow.
